Market capitalization of eight of the top 10 Sensex companies increased


The market capitalization (market cap) of eight of the top 10 Sensex companies collectively increased by Rs 1,18,930.01 crore last week. The biggest gainers were Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and State Bank of India (SBI). Last week, the 30-share BSE Sensex rose 760.69 points or 1.28 per cent.

A one-day special Muhurta business was organized on the beginning of the Hindu calendar year Vikram Samvat i.e. Diwali. Markets remained closed on the occasion of Diwali Balipratipada. Last week, only Reliance Industries and ICICI Bank lost their market capitalisation.

The market capitalization of TCS rose by Rs 40,782.04 crore to Rs 12,98,015.62 crore during the week. SBI's market valuation increased by Rs 25,033.54 crore to Rs 4,73,406.02 crore.

Market capitalization of Infosys rose by Rs 17,158.49 crore to Rs 7,18,890.08 crore and that of HDFC by Rs 10,153.08 crore to Rs 5,24,370.77 crore. Bajaj Finance's market capitalization rose by Rs 7,502.68 crore to Rs 4,54,304.34 crore .

The market valuation of Hindustan Unilever increased by Rs 6,978.29 crore to Rs 5,69,458.69 crore and that of HDFC Bank was up by Rs 6,453.41 crore to Rs 8,82,981.83 crore. The valuation of Kotak Mahindra Bank jumped by Rs 4,868.48 crore to Rs 4,07,881.48 crore.

Contrary to this trend, the market capitalization of Reliance Industries declined by Rs 24,612.17 crore to Rs 15,85,074.58 crore. ICICI Bank's market position stood at Rs 5,42,827.39 crore with a loss of Rs 13,680.32 crore. In the list of top 10 companies, Reliance Industries retained the first position.
