Facebook has taken this step after the concern being expressed about this technology around the world. In this technique, people are easily recognized through photos and videos.
Facebook's decision comes after Thursday's announcement, in which the company had said to change its name. The company had said that it is changing its name to Meta. Simultaneously, it had said that it would focus on using technology to foster imagination in the Internet journey.
In 2019, the company ended one such practice, under which the tag option came with the use of face recognition software. Facebook also filed a case against Illinois for this tag suggestion feature.
